Who is Sunday Morning Drive?

Sunday Morning Drive (SMD) is an independent acoustic rock band from Tempe, Arizona. Combining elements of rock, jazz, hip-hop, and organic electronic music, the band plays original songs that range from the light-hearted to the deeply reflective. Often compared to Dave Matthews Band and Jack Johnson, SMD has a passion for musical excellence, meaningful lyrics, and performances that are free-spirited and unpretentious.

Since it began as a group of friends in the Spring of 2004, the members of SMD have been pulled together by a love of the music and a shared experience of the kind of careless joy which comes only through hardship and loss. Frontman Josh Robinson leads the group on vocals and guitar, supported by Jesse Brown on drums, Mike Jones on bass, and David Cosand on the keys.

The band performs regularly in the Phoenix area, and is able to play extended sets of original songs. Past performance venues have included Martini Ranch, Alice Cooper'stown, Tempe Marketplace, and the Mesa Arts Center. Since 2007, SMD has performed yearly at the PF Chang's Rock 'n Roll Marathon, and at the Phoenix Film Festival.
